LunchThe district supports the philosophy of the National School Breakfast and National School Lunch Program.  Wholesome and nutritious meals shall be provided for children attending Easton School.

The meal program is administered in accordance with the rules and regulations set forth in the National School Breakfast and National School Lunch programs.   Both breakfast and lunch are offered.

School meals are prepared by Head Cook Jenny Jensen.  Mrs. Jensen begins serving breakfast each school day at 8:10 a.m.  Lunches are served at 11:35 for elementary students and 12:00 for students in grades 7-12.  If your child has special dietary needs, please contact Jenny.

Breakfast prices are:  $1.00 and free for qualifying students.  Lunch Prices are $1.75 for students in grades K-6 and for students in grades 7-12 the cost is $2.00.  Students in grades 4-12 qualifying for reduced price meals are charged $ .40 for lunch. Students may pre-pay for meals or follow a pay-as-you-eat plan.  Charging of meals is discouraged unless an emergency situation arises.   Questions regarding your child’s meal account may be directed to meal cashier Delores Tate.

Parents are encouraged to share a meal at school with their child.  Adults may eat breakfast for $2.00 and lunch for $3.25.  Please notify the school office to arrange for an additional meal to be prepared.

Reduced or free lunches are available to those who qualify.  See Mrs. Montgomery in the main office for information about free and reduced price lunch eligibility

Procedures have been implemented to insure the district maintains an effective accounting of the meal program and that Food Service staff are properly trained in food preparation, safe handling procedures and meal identification.  Food donations are prohibited except in the situation where the Superintendent establishes inspection and handling procedures for the food and determines that the provisions of all state and local laws have been met before selling the food as part of the school meal menu. The district may use food commodities made available under the Federal Food Commodity Program.
